Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how R&W Roofing Services collects and uses personal information when you use this website or contact us about roofing work. R&W Roofing Services is a sole trader based in Sidcup, Kent, and is the data controller for that information.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we collect the information you type into it: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the roofing service you need and your description of the work. If you phone, email, message us on WhatsApp or contact us through Facebook or Instagram, we collect the details you give us in that conversation.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any financial information such as card details, or any special category data such as health information.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• To carry out and invoice the work you instruct — performance of a contract.
• To keep records of quotations and completed work — our legitimate interest in running the business, and our legal and tax obligations.

We do not use your details for marketing, we do not send newsletters, and we never sell or share your information with third parties for their own purposes.

Who else handles your information

Enquiries sent through the form on this website are delivered to us by Formspree (Formspree, Inc., United States), which processes them on our behalf and stores them for a limited period in order to provide that service. Because Formspree is based outside the UK, your enquiry is transferred internationally under the safeguards set out in their agreement with us. Email we receive is handled by our email provider. Messages you send through WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram are also subject to Meta’s own privacy policies, over which we have no control. This website itself is served as static files and does not track you.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for 12 months, and then delete them. Where you become a customer, we keep records of the work, quotations and invoices for six years after the work is completed, which is the period HMRC requires for business records and which also covers the period in which a claim could be brought.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no tracking cookies by default. If optional analytics are ever switched on, they will load only after you accept them in the cookie banner. See our cookie policy for the detail.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email rwroofingservices95@yahoo.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
